About this deal

So I was excited to read LaMotte’s newest book, The Lure of Sea Glass, Our Connection to Nature’s Gems and also curious about what he could possibly have to say that wasn’t covered in his first tome. I got this ARC directly from the author for an honest review and I’m so excited to share it with you all! Speechify lets you listen to any text, including all books in the world with the best voices out there!

I have read ALL of Hales books and really enjoyed them all but this one hit home for me and I devoured it. If you want a stunning setting with a side of enchantment, look no further than The Magic of Sea Glass by Jenny Hale. I guess I was expecting beautiful, bright, crisp photos with depth as in the “pure seaglass” series.

From the grief of loss, to the joy of planning a wedding, to business choices and family complications, from babies to grandparents, this story covers the full range of emotions. This is something that obviously happened in these times, but I have never read a book exploring such events before and I found it utterly fascinating.Anyone who loves beautiful, historical fiction that teaches you things you didn’t know, takes you places you have never been and makes you feel something will really enjoy this novel. As with the last Jenny Hale novel I read (The Christmas Letters), the author seamlessly weaves together heartache and hope. Bev Jacquemet's photography in "The Sea Glass Rush" is a visual celebration of the world's most spectacular ocean tumbled Sea Glass.

This wonderful book is created by 'The Wilsons', a passionate sea glass-hunting family who live in Devon and spend every weekend scouring the shore for treasures to add to their collection. I absolutely adored this lovely bunch of characters, all so well lined out, all of them adding a spark to the story. Photographer Cindy Bilbao captures the natural beauty of this found art in a collectible volume essential for any sea glass lover. Jenny Hale’s books are always a must read as they are always well written, fun, entertaining, and hopeful.

Hale expertly wove these into the main storyline, and I couldn’t wait to find out how and where the two stories would intersect. She also shares some of the rarest specimens of sea glass, for some of which there are only one or two pieces known to be in existence. Accented with stunning photographs of sea glass and its sources, this beautiful book illustrates the transformative process these gems undergo in the belly of the ocean. Local fisherman/handyman/and all round good guy, Brody Harrison is helping Mary do some repairs and renovations. She and Sexton throw themselves into fixing it up, just as they throw themselves into their new life together.

She is the author of numerous essays, articles, short stories and audio pieces; Seaglass is her debut essay collection. The entire book is created by passionate sea glass hunting family ‘The Wilsons’, who live in Devon and spend every weekend scouring the sand for treasures to add to their collection.Sea Glass Memories is a heartwarming novel that shows us that living is not merely a passive verb, but an action we must take into our own hands. This incredible guide contains beautiful photos and illustrations throughout, showing clear examples of colours, shapes and types of sea glass that you might find washed in by the tide. As the story progresses, there are flashbacks to the 1950s and at first I wondered how the two timelines were going to mesh together, but then there were plenty of moments that included sea glass to thread them together beautifully.
