About this deal

Equipped with a magical army of unstoppable clockwork creatures, the Club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them. Tessa was trapped in the den of the evil doers(Dark Sisters), and a stranger had just broken into her prison cell. There are book talks that will warm every bookworm’s heart, there is the first mention of “demon pox”, an MC that adores chocolate so much that he thinks people who don’t eat it are monsters and cannibal ducks that lead to the Herondale’s secret motto of “Never trust a duck. Simply put, not only Tessa is an recycled version of Clary, she is also as judgmental, ungrateful and rude as Clary is.

This is my personal opinion and there is not a single problem in this book with vampires, they are well described and everything ,but I don't like these creatures so much. The Shadowhunter Chronicles have been adapted as both a major motion picture and a television series.Six weeks later, Tessa is rescued by a pair of Shadowhunters—the older one named Henry Branwell and the younger named Will Herondale - who decapitate Mrs. I *loved* the clockwork army and the clever way Tessa learns to use her powers to overcome her enemies. Henry and Will take Tessa along with them to the London Institute, run by Henry's wife, Charlotte, and housing two other Shadowhunters: Jem Carstairs and Jessie Lovelace, as well as three mundane innkeepers: Sophie Collins, Thomas Tanner, and Agatha, who she is introduced to. It's that for the life in me, I can't believe the ladies and gentlemen in the high society would be talking so rudely and directly to one another.

In an alley near Whitechapel, parabatai Will Herondale and Jem Carstairs are fending off demons, when the latter discovers a dead body of fourteen-year-old mundane Emma Bayliss. But no, Tessa tricked her way out instead of carrying out her plan for real, and I can't believe for a second the Magister would be fooled by her stunt! Don’t get me started on how she wiki’d “Victorian Society”, copy and pasted the information into word and then randomly injected it into the story via the characters parroting the cans and can’ts of the time period. After the death of her Aunt, and only family member aside from her brother, Tessa really has no choice but to accept (plus she's missed him quite a bit). The fantasy elements are also really well done, so that it still fits within the realistic setting of Victorian London and doesn't become too overwhelming but the best part of the book has to be the characters. There’s also the fact that Tessa is dealing with her own internalized misogyny, but the narrative still kind of decries what’s going on. However, it is unclear what exactly, other than the fact that she is capable of shapeshifting into anyone by holding any of their personal belongings.

Cassandra Clare is quickly becoming my favorite author and with her latest book, it's not hard to see why. Tessa gratefully accepts Jem's comfort but does not completely realize the sincerity behind his words. Infuriated, de Quincey tries to kill him, but Tessa fires at him, compelling the vampire to escape, while Will accidentally consumes some of the vampire's blood because of the bite. Will doesn’t hold Jace’s attraction, and whereas his lines sometimes caused me to smile a little, they never made me laugh out loud. The following evening, Tessa overhears the heated argument between Jem, Will and Charlotte, the latter assuming that it was due to the previous night's fiasco.Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. I think it's important to note that you really don't need to have read the previous series, although a couple of the characters rolled over into this series I couldn't remember a thing about them and neither did I need to.

And this book starts out with a young girl named Tessa, who is picking up her life and moving to England from America after the death of her Aunt.Something terrifying is waiting for Tessa Gray in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. This series will always have a special place in my heart and I enjoyed this reread probably even more then when I read the book for the very first time.
