This educational kit gives children, students and families an unforgettable opportunity to watch caterpillars change into chrysalids and then emerge as beautiful Painted Lady Butterflies. Butterflies will often feed from mud puddles to ingest minerals and salts, which are important supplements to their diet. Then after around 5 days they are big enough and start to pupate on the piece of cardboard attached to the lid. This enjoyable project creates a feeder that attaches to the window so you can feed and view birds from within your own home.

Butterfly wings are formed by layers of "chitin", the protein that makes up an insect's exoskeleton. I believe a number of schools already use this product, and I highly recommend that other schools follow suit. We only use native British species, so the adult ladybirds / butterflies can then be released in your garden.Painted Lady butterflies feed from over 100 different plants; this makes them incredibly vital pollinators. Comes with a feeding pipette, activity guide and instructions, with a certificate voucher that you redeem to receive a set of five caterpillars (sent March to mid-September).
