About this deal

There was a zinc bath hanging from a nail in the wash-house, but it was never used because all functions were performed at the sink. It is lovely and sturdy (or has been) as I like to wash up with a full bowl of water, and it has seen years of use. If you go for granite I think that maybe you need the most expensive variety - DD bought a house with them installed and they were a real pain to keep looking nice - every mark showed up. It’s a bit smaller than my sink , so if it’s in use , say with dishes soaking, I can still rinse things from the tap at the side of it while I’m cooking . You can wash large pans and baking trays easily plus I can soak the oven racks in the sink in hot water with washing powder added and they come out clean and don't need scrubbing.I had two old aunties and an uncle who lived in a house in Walker Street, Askam-in-Furness, and their Belfast sink was the only indication that a sanitary system existed ? When I bought my house the belfast sink had a plastic stand in the bottom of it, on which the washing up bowl could rest. What I don’t understand is why would you wash your dirty plates in a bowl of water that gradually just gets dirtier and dirtier as you wash?
