Selection has been described as 'soapy' (we think unfairly) however it's definitely a very clean scent and perfect for daytime / warmer weather. It is unlike other aromatic fougeres in that it does not have an real defined green "ferny" note but the geranium more than makes up for that. In the heart of the fragrance is the aroma of geranium and cedar leaves, surrounded by star anise and petitgrain. Having tried it out at Boots builds up my appreciation on what other say about a scent being "elegantly fresh and clean". this smells clean, nice, and safe for every time every occasions (IMHO) and my gf always love it on me. We chose to review Hugo Boss Selection as it's a favourite of allbeauty staff that doesn't always get the limelight.

With a strong emphasis on both masculine and feminine products, you simply cannot help but fall in love with their perfumes.

It just comes into it’s own on a day filled with springtime rain, obviously making it a good rainy day scent. What makes Selection more different of those two is a initial sweet smell, a little candy-fruit-like, but a well elaborated one, I mean, could be a silly chord but it is not. As this dries down the orange moves to the background and the scent gets less fresh and more powdery and warm ! It’s fresh and a little musky, and is a scent I would describe as being quite universal, good for any man.A base of Sandalwood, Vetiver and Musk leaves behind a passionate and charismatic finish for the man who knows what he wants. This is a great alternative fragrance for fans of Jil Sander and works ideally either for the mature young man or the classic businessman.
