About this deal

fern (the rattkin bookseller) really felt like a once in a lifetime character for me, because she really embodies the feeling and the power of seeing someone fall in love with books and reading and how special it feels when maybe you played a little part in that.

I was so over the moon to be allowed an early copy of this book on NetGalley, as Legends and Lattes is one of my all time favourite reads of all.but this book also talks about how there will never be an age limit on figuring out things you want to do in life. The perfect follow up to Legends and Lattes, it was so good to be with Viv again and to see a bit about how she became the orc we love so much. I don’t know if I can explain it, but watching you read what I give you, putting a book in your hands and seeing what happens to you once you put it back down . It always gives me satisfaction when I hear from readers they took my reviews and recommendations into account when they chose which books to read.

If you loved the first you’ll almost certainly love this perfectly executed prequel even more, as the stakes are higher and the scones are hotter still!Tottering to her feet, she made it to the basin of tepid water, where she scrubbed herself as best she could with the rag she found there.

Viv is clearly chaffing to get back to the fight, but also honest enough to admit that she may have found something - or rather someone - pretty good in Murk. When the tavernkeep brought out a skillet and set it on the counter along with a fork and a napkin, she almost seized the hot handle with her bare hand in her hurry to drag it closer. Read by the author, a talented and animated fantasy narrator who also voiced Legends, the book presents a colorful cast of new and familiar characters that is sure to ensorcell and delight listeners. She also cusses all the time, barely reaches Viv's knee, and has an adorable pet gryphet named Potroast (see cover for reference). After the world building, I was fully into the story and became fond of all the different characters. This is a book for those who were once young and pulled between fighting the world with all they had .

But occasionally, I would like to have the option to take a break by reading a wonderfully cozy or slice-of-life story when I am in the proper reading mood. She is the one who invited Viv into the cult that is literature and shows her where true happiness lies: books.Due to injury, Viv finds herself on a forced break from action in the sleepy coastal village of Murk whilst she recuperates. Although, I'm excited to meet new ones and see what adventures Viv went on over the last 20 years and what she's currently up to. Viv has been hunting down Varine the necromancer with her Ravens crew when she unfortunately gets injured. and 4 stars - This is a pretty darn successful follow up to the smash hit debut that was Legends and Lattes. Just like Legends and Lattes, this was a cosy fantasy set in a small town with many characters with distinct personalities that cross paths.
