This is the story of a small girl who loves visiting her Grandad and rummaging through the artefacts from his travels.

I love that it is an intergenerational story in which a grandchild and grandfather are just loving spending time together.

They will practice writing in the past progressive by creating captions for the photo album and develop their skill at writing questions in role as the little girl by interviewing Grandad about his campervan adventures. A long time ago, Grandad and Gramps spent many happy days travelling the world together in a camper van. It was inspired by their university dissertation, which revealed a lack of representation for older LGBTQIA+ characters in children’s books. The illustrations are full of warmth, colour and joy, beautifully echoing the excitement of discovery and adventure. Following this, children create expanded noun phrases to enhance their descriptive writing and use these to support them in writing poetry about an object which holds a special memory to them.To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The family is also multi-ethnic, but again this just *is*, this book is in no way an "issue" book rather a tender story of a granddaughter cherishing her grandfather and helping him find joy again.
