About this deal
It’s taboo AF and there’s a lot of outrageous things that won’t sit well with many readers (I highly recommend viewing the content/trigger warnings before deciding to read this)! He doesn't speak because of a 'childhood trauma', he does nothing but rape the heroine until she's convinced she likes it, and finally throws her birth control pills into the bin. Timing is everything and sometimes, due to an influx of requests or book mail, it may take a little while for us to reply/post.
Also this book felt very Twilight to me for some reason, I couldn’t really figure out why but just the mood of it I guess.
But… These darker more taboo romances are also not usually my jam so i’m surprised I enjoyed this one as much as I did!
there is also this scene where she unbuttons a shirt she is wearing in front of dearest uncle jake - mind you, she is wearing a whole ass t-shirt underneath - and he is like "She should be doing this in the privacy of the bathroom. then he came back and spoke to her or whatever so she stayed with him forever and had a kid with him. it would've made more sense if she actually ended up with the person she spent most of the time with in a romantic way (Jake). There are elements in here that are just hard limits for some people - which I understand and respect. And while I definitely respect and understand those limits, I also encourage anyone on the fence to give this a try if they feel so inclined.I thought Penelope Douglas did a wonderful job with her writing, and I was hooked on the story the whole way through.
