About this deal

Per Metre' column, you will find our recommended plant density for each individual plant species and root type.

Although our bamboo is dried carefully for 6 – 8 weeks prior to export, the poles will have residual moisture.

These include providing shade and privacy, disguising less attractive areas of the garden, such as compost heaps, or to simply add a bit of decoration to your home. Carbonised bamboo screening has a dark caramel colour which has been achieved by smoking golden-coloured bamboo in an industrial kiln, this gives each cane a deep, rich colour. For complete privacy in your garden, it’s recommended that you go for a bamboo screening that is at least 2 metres in height.

Side note: bamboo is easy to cut so if you wanted to decrease the height of your screening, use a measuring tape and saw off the ends. Black Bamboo creates a unique focal point in any garden with its ebony arching canes and long, slender leaves which flutter and sway attractively in the breeze and can instantly create a calming, peaceful space.

We recommend the use of half rounds for projects and some bamboo poles have their nodes pierced to achieve a similar affect. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. If this is something you’re looking to achieve then Longacres’ bamboo slat screening might be the perfect choice. This is a critical component to the design, both as a way to create some privacy in the space and to (hopefully) alleviate some of the neighborhood opposition to the design. If you treat the bamboo poles with an oil or lacquer, the number of cracks will be less than if you do not apply a protective layer.
