Neither should AI be used in ways that reinforce or further any ideology or agenda, seeking to subjugate human autonomy under the power of the state. As a part of our God-given creative nature, human beings should develop and harness technology in ways that lead to greater flourishing and the alleviation of human suffering. Through the eyes of these sisters, “we see [Jesus] as the one who welcomes women and defends their right to learn from him. With Christians, we (Muslims) agree that Jesus was born of a virgin, that he was the Messiah, and that he is the Word of God.

This book made me want to know Jesus more and trust Him the way that these women of the NT trusted Him. Most of her books tackle controversial issues or questions that the general public bring against Christianity. Richard Giles is best known for his pioneering work in creating worship that is truly transformative and life-changing and has written numerous bestselling books on that theme. Rebecca McLaughlin's writing style is entertaining, easygoing, nuanced, thought-provoking, humble and very human! In a culture where women were often silenced, Jesus commissions a female disciple to announce his resurrection to his male disciples.

And sadly, in some Christian circles, women have been disrespected by their brothers in the faith and treated inappropriately.

But while Jesus is the source of every good thing we have, and loves to hear our prayers, if we knew the gift of God, and who we were talking to, we’d ask him, first and foremost, to give us himself. Through it all, Bailey employs his trademark expertise as a master of Middle Eastern culture to lead you into a deeper understanding of the person and significance of Jesus within his own cultural context. I appreciated how the author sections the book and then has study or reflection questions after each chapter.Beginning with Jesus’ birth, Ken Bailey leads us on a kaleidoscopic study of Jesus in the four Gospels. Her approach is fairly simple, namely, she notices women in the Gospels and draws her readers into their shoes. In a chapter on life, McLaughlin focuses on these women’s accounts to winsomely argue for, not against, biblical soundness at several points, anticipating opposing views. McLaughlin has spent plenty of time considering the cynic’s vantage point, with books that include Confronting Christianity: 12 Hard Questions for the World’s Largest Religion in 2020 and The Secular Creed: Engaging 5 Contemporary Claims in 2021. Her purpose is primarily devotional as her subtitle indicates, rather than polemical, making the study refreshing.
