Based in Treviso in the heart of 'Prosecco country', La Gioiosa has consistently won awards across the globe and its quality wines are enjoyed my many.

The finish didn’t last long but overall it was a delightful experience, and I enjoyed every glass I had. The grape used for the production of Prosecco is Glera, a typical variety of the northeast of Italy since the Roman age, which makes up at least 85% of the grapes used.The guys over at La Gioiosa asked if I would like to try one of their Proseccos, I said yes and started to have a wee read about them. Im not a wine drinker and for whatever reason, prefer Prosecco to Champagne and this bottle of La Gioiosa Brut is the most enjoyable Prosecco Ive had. Once the final Prosecco Spumante has been blended, it is aged further using the Méthode Traditionelle.

The first nose of Prosecco Spumante Brut Treviso reveals notes of honeydew melon, ripe apple and violets. Its name pays tribute to the old definition of the province of Treviso, "Marca gioiosa et amorosa" (Joyous and Amorous March) underlining the sociable lifestyle of its inhabitants. Whole grapes are put into the pneumatic press for soft pressing and the must is put into controlled temperature tanks where it remains until it is used for the production of sparkling wine. La Gioiosa rappresenta la tradizione della viticoltura che appartiene alla famiglia Moretti Polegato da generazioni ed è in perfetta simbiosi con i vini della terra del Prosecco, del Montello e dei Colli Asolani.
