It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything.

I wish I had books like these growing up, I would have probably found my power as a black girl much earlier in life! Each page is filled with amazing work from different artists reminding little black children to date to dream, to stand in what they believe , to be themselves the best version of themselves .Yet she is reminded that she stands on the shoulders of the great black community that has come before her – and that she has the power to be anything and anyone she wants to be. Perfect for new parents and fans of Oliver Jeffers Here We Are, I Am Every Good Thing by Derrick Barnes and Gordon C James, and Tami Charles' and Bryan Collier's All Because You Matter. Featuring illustration from 18 black artists as well as Adeola himself, this beautiful book also serves as a brilliant directory of work from black illustrators, enabling parents to look up their other books, or keep an eye out for their work in the future.

There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. In line with All Because You Matter, You Matter, Antiracist Baby, Your Name is a Song, and Eyes That Kiss in the Corners. This picture book was born out of Adeola’s reaction to the killing of George Floyd and his realisation that, as a child, there were no books he saw that featured black children in a meaningful way.I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly! The Independent"This beautiful book also serves as a brilliant directory of work from black illustrators.
