About this deal

As a written reference book to keep at hand while you go through the process of dealing with sleep issues, absolutely spot on. Feeling a bit more positive today as although she took 30 mins to settle last night, that's the quickest I've managed to get her down. By helping parents understand their child's sleep science and common tendencies in the first three years, Lucy shows parents how to introduce and maintain a gentle approach tha I'm not trying to say you should change your technique, but your gut might be right in telling you she's a bit confused about you hanging around. Still screaming for bottles through the night we always caved we’ve both to work and the 4 year old needs to be rested for playschool….

We decided not to follow all steps all at once, but to start with getting her used to falling asleep in the cot first. She has specific training and certification for children aged four to five months, with continued studies in Parent Mentoring and Relationship Studies (UCC).I really believe there should be a role for people like you in pre and post natal care in hospitals.

Our son L, was never a sleeper from day one, he wouldn’t sleep at night, and he cat napped during the day, 15/20 mins max. By helping parents understand their child's sleep science and common tendencies in the first three years, Lucy shows parents how to introduce and maintain a gentle approach that is 98 per cent effective in addressing sleep issues. We night weaned gradually before starting the method at around 9mo, I didn’t find it a wrench as feeding to sleep wasn’t doing it’s job anymore, but with my first I’d have never been able to do it at that stage. She contributes to various radio shows as well as print and online publications including the Irish Independent Mothers and Babies , Pregnancy and Parenting , Maternity and Infant Magazine , Mums and Tots and Easy Parenting . The author has her plan but suggests alternatives that you can do if it makes you feel more comfortable.

Her sleep was broken due to discomfort, naps were no longer than 20 minutes, we'd long days of her screaming in pain and puking, she latched very poorly due to pain and I ended up with a very painful breast abscess. Her stay-and-support approach has helped thousands of parents achieve the holy grail of babyhood – a full night’s sleep. I found the feeding and napping schedule so easy to follow and I liked how it gave a structure and routine to my day too. Our Non-Fiction Range includes: Academic, Photography, Audio books, Business, Cook Books, Craft Books, Health and Fitness Books, Mind, Body, Spirit (Tarot).

I know most of the time he’s waking for comfort and he’ll only go back if I put him on breast, otherwise he just cries. hey ye he wakes at 5am but I make sure he doesn’t go back for his nap until 9am I know it’s a long time but it’s to try and push the early wakings, it’s just Killing me because of my 3 year old I wouldn’t care otherwise like I’d deal with it as best I could but u it’s just hard, he does 9am nap then 1. hey we haven’t tried later bed time just cause I never thought it was a later bedtime problem, always thought over tired, today I loved his nap later in the afternoon so he slept 2 to 3.

With sleep-shaping supports for newborns, top tips for toddlers, and advice for older children up to the age of six, Lucy's approach provides a gentle and emotionally considerate way to get your little one to sleep - without leaving them alone to cry, ensuring they feel loved, safe and secure at all times. My work is focused on helping parents to establish positive sleep practices for their children from birth to 6 years of age, with a responsive, attuned, loving and supportive approach.

One thing the book suggests if your baby is upset is distraction, bang on the mattress or the cot bars, turn the white noise machine up really loud and then back down again etc, blow gently on baby's face. I had been holding my 5 month old baby for naps and at night to keep her asleep as she has reflux and would spit up a lot.She went down after only 15 mins of crying tonight but woke up 3 hours later and wouldn't settle so I had to feed her.
