The RTX 4080 Eagle variants represent Gigabyte's budget RTX 4080 graphics cards and feature a newly re-design aesthetic. Gone is the jagged-edged cooler shroud, replaced by a standard rectangular shroud design featuring a grey color scheme accompanied by blue and white colored accents.The RTX 4080 delivers very good performance, and the Zotac Amp Extreme Airo is a little better than the FE, though not dramatically so given the loosely defined way Nvidia cards boost themselves. Perhaps you’ve just seen the numbers available from the Nvidia RTX 4080, the latest entry in their Ada Lovelace range of graphics cards. If so then you’ll be champing at the bit to get one into your system. Should that desire coincide with a preference for Gigabyte hardware, or perhaps you prefer a whiter card than the ones usually available, then their Aero range might scratch that itch. Zotac’s RTX 4080 Amp Extreme Airo is a genuine high-end contender. I believe it's a very good-looking card, particularly if you're a fan of RGB lighting. Its curved shroud might not appeal to all, but to me it's a nice change from otherwise boxy designs. It doesn’t seem that long ago that everyone would dismiss a reference card out of hand. The coolers were rubbish, the noise levels high, and they had all the visual attractiveness of a concrete bunker. Whilst the main manufacturers – AMD and Nvidia – have greatly improved all those aspects of their own brand designs, the truth is that almost everyone instead buys a partner vendor card.Despite its gigantic size, however, the Zotac card isn't what you'd call silent, though it's no leaf blower either. Under heavy gaming loads the card is audible, but in no way annoying in tone or volume.
