About this deal

Alright, now it’s time to talk about one of my absolute favorite blankets. If it wasn’t for the high price, it would be rated higher on my list. Fabric that was used in the making of honeycomb throw is 100% polyester. The fabric of this Serta’s warming throw is animal-friendly faux fur. Because of the fabric, the honeycomb warming throw is aesthetically pleasing. You can get the heated throw in colors grey and sand. Like the Serta electric blanket, this one also has a power converter that changes the 120-volt AC that most blankets use, into a non-hazardous low-voltage DC current. This allows the blanket itself to emit almost no EMF radiation, which is exactly what we’re looking for here. The Sunbeam Quilted Fleece Heated Blanket was the least welcoming of the bunch. It’s made from polyester like many others, but it’s neither soft nor cozy, and I didn’t want it against my bare skin. Additionally, the wires inside this blanket were very stiff—you can feel them immediately when you lie under it, and they made the blanket difficult to fold.

The queen and king-sized blankets have two controllers, and the heat can be adjusted on either side. This allows couples who have different heat requirements to customize the heat level on their side of the bed. Note that with the throw, twin, and full-sized versions, only one controller is included. There is a simple-to-use digital display to control the heat. One way that users liked to use this blanket was to have it as the topper for their bed, and then turn it on a few minutes before they crawled in. That way it’s like your crawling into a bed that is already warm and ready! Look for blankets that are made with fabrics like sherpa, fleece, and flannel. Since heated throws have an internal wiring system that you might be able to feel, a soft and warm material can help strike a balance between the functionality and comfort level of the blanket. How We Selected Another one of my favorite features of this electric blanket is the dual remotes. In the King and Queen sizes of this blanket, there are actually two remotes, one on either side. This allows a couple to each set their own heat preferences if it is used as the primary or topper blanket for the bed. First of all, the blanket is made out of several layers of fabric that create a super soft and plush comfort.Alright, starting off let’s talk about one of the few electric blankets on the market that claims to emit no EMF radiation right in the product description. To maintain the perfect sleeper warming throw, you should wash it by hand. In that way, the luxury plush fabric of the warming throw will stay nice longer. You also will not experience any changes in the softness of the blanket or wrinkles.

There are also some special features reserved for more expensive electric blankets. For instance, some models have a “preheat” option, which typically heats up the blanket on a warmer setting for 30 minutes or more to get your bed toasty before you hop in. Note that the preheat settings we tested specifically note not to use them when you’re in bed. In 2007, a large group of doctors, researchers, and scientists published the now-famous BioiInitiative Report. It looked at hundreds of studies in relation to EMF radiation dangers from things like cell phones, power lines, cell towers, smart meters, and other sources of EMF radiation in our everyday lives. McJaw’s heated blanket has four heat settings to choose from, and there’s a 10-hour auto turn-off feature for added safety.

To prevent these hazards, it’s essential to carefully read and follow the manufacturer’s safety precautions. You’ll also want to stop using your blanket if there are any signs of fraying or loose wires or other damage. We love the adjustable auto-shutoff feature, which can be adjusted from one to 10 hours in one-hour increments. And we like that the blanket features 20 different heat settings and comes with a five-year warranty. It’s also machine washable on cold cycle. Eikei Wool Throw Blanket Geo Diamond Pattern Oversized Couch Throw Blanket Fringe Trim Soft Merino Woolen Afghan Minimalist Style Lightweight Machine Washable (Light Grey, 55Wx78L) Safety features: Look for blankets with an automatic shut-off feature. It's a must-have in case you accidentally drift off while it's on, and you can usually choose between different time settings up to nine hours. Overheat protection is also a good safety feature to have too. Another special feature is a timer, which means the blanket will turn off after a set number of hours. Similar to the preheat option, this will ensure you don’t get too hot overnight, and it will save electricity, too. Do I Need an Electric Blanket?
