About this deal

As I entered one field I saw a Muntjac and Kid, they had entered the field from my right to left, got about half-way across the field, thought better of it and returned at speed from whence they came. At about this time I became aware of the shape of a deer in the hedge which was obviously alert. The deer was trying to see what I was. The Firefield® Bipods durable, lightweight aluminum frame weighs in at an eye-watering 16.3 oz, so you can use it all day long and not suffer from fatigue. We've expanded our delivery team to make buying air rifles online: cheaper, faster and more convenient than ever.

The feet have rubber caps; there are no options for grass or mud, although they worked just as well in the field as they did around the farm. At the other end is a solid metal yoke into which the legs are fixed. The screws can be adjusted for tension using a second Allen key. At full stretch, the tripod is fine for sitting shots. You can eke out more height by reducing the footprint from its 1.22-metre maximum, but they will not go high enough for standing shots – you’d have to choose another model from the Ultrec range. At their lowest, just 43cm high, you could just about use the Ultrec for prone shots. Certainly they would be useful in situations such as long grass if your forend-mounted bipod is too low. On top of that is the gun rest, which swivels through 360 degrees and is made from plastic covered in firm rubber and has a series of grooves to provide extra grip. The Ultrec’s party piece is that pushing a metal rod in the yoke releases the rest, allowing you to swap between a V and U shape – both are supplied. The field test for the HSF Tripod was a night-time ratting trip. I had to sit in a squelchy farmyard, which wasn’t a problem thanks to the mud feet. The HSF Tripod gave me an extremely stable platform to enjoy a productive night’s sport. One of my permissions provides an opportunity to shoot high-roosting crows. The T68’s height enabled me to take several corvids from the tops of trees.

As I said in previous posts, I'm having serious difficulty making up my mind on this, as where I shoot is VERY rough, with practically no level ground and a lot of dense vegetation (making the Primos ideal), but it also rains A LOT, which seems to be the undoing of the Primos, making the legs stop functioning properly. I could just buy the Primos in the almost certain knowledge that very soon I'd have to take it apart and remove the white rings or whatever they are, and lube the legs etc. And maybe that's what I'll do, but it goes against the grain to spend a significant amount of cash on a new piece of equipment knowing I'll probably have to do a repair job on it almost straight away.

I'm also having difficulty working out whether there's much difference (that would matter to me) between the Primos Gen 2 and Gen 3 tripods, particularly regarding the OP's original question as to whether the earlier reliability problems have been resolved with the Gen 3 tripod. Does anyone here have any experience with the Primos Gen 3 tripod, and can they make a comparison with the Gen 2? Payl8r can lend based on your affordability alongside your credit history, which allows them to review and accept many customers throughout the UK. These items normally require Identification (Passport) or a firearms / Shotgun certificate before they are handed over. Shotguns, Rifles, Airguns and Moderators are usually good examples. When purchasing an “Only available in store” item you are in effect paying a deposit for your goods. In most instances you can choose to collect your item from our store or if It's a firearm you can collect it from a 3rd party gun dealer. The latter may be at an additional cost to yourself. The DeadShot® ChairPod itself swivels 360 degrees and acts more like a comfortable Deadshot rest than anything else. It’s easily one of the best disabled shooters aids, or, as mentioned, for those who just enjoy a relaxing time. Knobloch make a very good and lightweight collapsible telescopic tripod, but it ain’t cheap, it is however considerably lighter than the Primos tripods, though takes longer to set; it is (generally) a quieter tripod than the Primos too.

There are three feet options. A set of push-on rubber caps is ideal for concrete or gravel. Pull them off and metal stubs are revealed for grass. Finally, a set of round plastic mud feet can be screwed into place. Joe favours off-the-shelf factory Hornady Superformance ammo for his Tikka T3 Lite in .204 Ruger as he doesn’t have the time or inclination to reload at home. Although it costs more, he feels it’d take a long time to fire enough shots to pay for all the reloading equipment and, as its performance is so good, he also gains confidence by using it. Once the parcel reaches the DPD depot for forwarding we will then notify you with a delivery window, providing an estimated delivery time when your parcel will arrive. I know of people who have had nothing but trouble with their "trigger" tripods (yes Vernon, I mean you), but I don't yet know of anyone who regrets buying a set of the bog-pods. So I bought the bog-pods. The might not suit everyone, especially on really rough ground, but they suit me for shooting in the Cotswold's and down in Wiltshire with Stan. In this enterprise I have chosen to focus on four experienced fox shooters, including me, Paul, my usual shooting partner, and Olly and Joe, who both generally shoot on their own. Rifles and ammo for foxing Maybe you're not intending to trek through forests or across plains to hunt, in which case a fixed length bipod would be more appropriate. Functional Design The Primos PoleCat Bipod is very stable. Its shooting V grips are cushioned with rubber to increase grip and prevent scratching. Plus, the yoke is made from nylon making its strength-to-weight ratio unmatched in its class. With the Veo’s tiny footprint, I had plenty of room inside the hide, and once I had set the height to where I knew from experience most shots would come, the tilt feature became a real bonus. The gun rest is made from rubberised plastic, providing a stable platform thanks to the addition of fine ridges. It also revolves around 360 degrees. This compact bipod is great for all your shooting and hunting needs, including tactical training, competition shooting, and hunting. This makes this dependable bipod the ideal accessory for any shooting situation, including prone shooting. If you (the customer) requests DPD (our courier) to leave your parcel with a neighbour or in safe place either via Parcelforce text, app, direct instructions or via historical instructions given to DPD to be applied to your deliveries, then the receiver accepts full responsibility for parcels that are left in a safe place or delivered at request to a neighbour etc. There’s little to choose between two of the tested products – the Vanguard Pro T68 and the Ultrec Tripod. Both will last you a long time and won’t let you down in the field. Ultimately, though, the Vanguard just gets the nod thanks to fantastic build quality and a few more design features.” At its full height of 1.79 metres, the highest on test, the HSF Tripod provides an excellent platform for shooting pigeons and corvids in high trees. At just about a kilo, it is also easy to carry; there is a band for tying the legs together when on the move, but no carry strap.

When it comes to useful foxing equipment , there’s so much conflicting advice around that I thought it would make sense to look at what’s actually used out in the field. The tripod is aslo suitable for cameras, spotting scopes, binoculars, laser range finders and almost any other mono pod mountable device. The configuration of the tension adjustable lateral tilt and multi-bearing swing arm system allows free movement through every angle. Offering unmatched stability and accuracy. Heavyweight or those with multiple accessories might be okay for the range. But if you intend to haul it ten miles up a valley, then weight might well be an issue. I once left a damp carbon steel bladed knife in its plastic scabbard and next time I came to use it the blade had rusted. A friend put theirs in the dishwasher cutlery tray and the blade came out completely covered in rust. I have not seen fit to post a complaint that misuse and abuse of my stalking equipment has led to deterioration of same.
