About this deal

This was the newest standard specified by the SD Association in 2010. The UHS or Ultra High Speed was in tune with the bus used in the memory cards and had nothing much to do with the card’s speed. For example, Sony makes V90 UHS-II SD cards that can reach up to 299 MB per second sequential write speed and a 300 MB sequential read speed. These cards are mostly used by professional videographers who record high-resolution and high frame rate video footage. Just like the ADATA offerings, this is also a UHS-II high-speed memory card capable of capturing 8k, HDR, & 4K UHD videos with ease. After using the 128GB Kingston Canvas React Plus SD card extensively, I can say without reservation that it’s reliable. It has performed flawlessly when I’ve shot on high-resolution cameras like the 45.7MP Nikon Z7 II at its fastest rate (10fps) and when shooting 4K video. It’s also proved capable of recording 8K video, however, it doesn’t allow the most demanding formats like 8K raw.

These SD cards offer various utilities and features that can enhance the user experience. These utilities can include built-in error correction codes (ECC). This is to prevent data corruption, data recovery software, write-protect switches, and compatibility with different file systems. Both the V60 and V90 SD cards generally provide similar utility features. The prefix V refers to the video speed class as specified by the SD Association for denoting the sequential write speed offered by each of the card standards.First, let us look at the different types of SD Cards available in the market. Also, know about their storage capacities: Our SanDisk Extreme SD UHS-I V3 tests saw write speeds live up to its claims, matching them almost exactly at 71.6MB/s. But as with most other cards on this list, the read speeds leave a bit to be desired, coming in at almost half the claimed speed, 71.6MB/s. All can be forgiven, though, bearing in mind the extremely low cost of these cards, especially while still offering such high capacity to users at up to 256GB sizes. The V-Class ensures that the SD card has a minimum sustained performance for recording videos. It is specifically designed to support recording multiple video streams, 360-degree capture, virtual reality content, and videos with 8K and higher resolutions. This means that if you want to capture high-quality videos or use advanced recording features, you must choose an SD card with a higher Video Speed Class. V60 vs. V90 SD Card – What’s the Difference

Switching to record Fine* Jpegs boosted the burst depth significantly to 65 images, but that’s someway behind what was possible with the Lexar Professional 2000x SDHC/SDXC UHS-II, Kingston Canvas React Plus SDHC/SDXC UHS-II and PNY X-Pro 90 SDXC UHS-II cards. Shooting Fine-quality Jpegs increases the burst depth again, but at 78, it’s still behind the other cards I’ve tested recently, only beating the Manfrotto Professional SDXC UHS-II card. However, it should be noted here that the speed class does not necessarily specify the actual speed performance of a particular card. For example, you cannot conclude that a V60 card may not offer better performance than a U6 card.Along with that, you also have access to the Video Speed Classes as well. We currently have the speed classes – V6, V10, V30, V60, and V90. These numbers specifically denote the sequential write speeds in MB per sec. For instance, a V6 card will offer a sequential write speed of 6 MB per sec, while a V10 card gives you a rate of 10 MB per sec. Please note that these speeds refer to the minimum sequential write speed provided by each class. The actual cards with those specifications can offer an extended speed performance than what is specified to be minimum. What are the Classes V30, V60, and V90? The cards with a minimum sequential write speed of 30 MB per sec come under the V30 video speed class category. These are the standard options if you seek a formidable choice among the Video speed class specification. These are best suited for the cameras and devices that shoot in full HD in 1080p. These cards can also support 4K video recording and transfer at a lower bitrate. Which Card should you go with?
