With its stainless-steel effect finish, water dispenser and sophisticated-looking touch controls, the Hisense RQ560N4WC1 certainly makes a statement way beyond its price point. The good news is that this four-door fridge freezer has a roster of features to match its high-end look. This cookie is set by Bazaarvoice. The performance and energy efficiency is right up there with the old model and, at this price, all we can really criticise is the slightly odd logic of the digital controls and basic drawer runners making for rather stiff drawer access. Once again, Hisense has come in with a great product at an outstanding price. Verdict
This model comes with a much wider interior space offering you much greater storage allowance. Just the thing you need when you have lots of food to keep fully fresh. With an A++ energy rating, its running costs are super low for its size too, plus it’s one of the quietest running fridges we’ve ever tested. In use, its fridge temperatures remain remarkably consistent where it counts and for the most part, the freezer performance is exemplary too. With a unique triple zone, this fridge freezer comes with three separately temperature controlled compartments for you to adjust according to your needs. Have a large fridge area, or freezer compartment, or turn one compartment in to an additional My Fresh Choice area.This model comes with a non-plumbed water dispenser which is easy to refill and gives you and all the family cold water on demand. A great way to keep everyone hydrated and refreshed! Twist ice cube trays can make a large volume of ice at once. A simple rotation will result in the ice cubes to drop into the ice box below. So even if you fancy a cold drink, your drinks will be beautifully chilled. More advanced than ordinary frost-free, the innovative Total No Frost Technology from Hisense circulates cold air evenly throughout your fridge and freezer to prevent ice crystals from forming, so there's no need to ever manually defrost.The top freezer drawers with their open front took a little while to get used to. The jury was out on their practicality at first, as you’d clearly be able to stuff more in them if they had full fronts like traditional drawers. Yet the easy-access to regular items was handy, even more so when you consider they were so well illuminated from above by the freezer LEDs. At the bottom, the two independent freezer compartments can be run at different temperatures to suit the contents. The left-hand side is a traditional freezer, with a temperature range of -15 to -25 oC, while the right-hand compartment can be set from -5 to -18 oC. That covers all the bases from traditional freezer (-18 degrees) to soft-frozen foods such as ice cream and deserts (-12 oC) and even short-term fish and meat storage (-5 oC). We also found the -5 oC setting ideal for speed-chilling wine and beer for summer parties. The fridge’s four full-width glass shelves with spill-proof edges provide scope for wide items such as baking trays or large plates. The even distance between the shelves isn’t ideal, though – and for those with taller items to store in the main compartment, you’ll probably have to remove one of the shelves. The new RQ560N4WC1 builds on the four-door French-Style theme with outstanding flexibility, excellent lighting in the fridge and freezer, and a new chilled-water container with handy dispenser on the front door.There’s ice and water on tap, and its water supply can be plumbed in or fed by an internal tank, which makes it more versatile if you have an awkward kitchen layout. There’s a little space taken up by the ice maker, but overall, you’d need to be running a restaurant if you wanted more storage capacity than this giant can offer. However, in our repeatable base-line energy tests this Hisense came out very well indeed. The Beko ASD241 is the cheapest American-style model we’ve tested, and one of the most affordable on the market, in fact. But while the price is low, the feature count is certainly not. Simply fill the internal reservoir with fresh water and get perfectly cooled water at the touch of a button with our built-in water dispenser.
