About this deal

like i said above, i wasn't sure how i was going to feel about this book but i seriously loved it just as much twngo. the pacing was perfect. their relationship was super angsty so we got so much tension and 'will they, won't they' and when they did get together, we got some suspense like we did in knox & naomi's book. The s3x wasn't overly anything - but one thing that did catch me off guard was reading a sexual 'encounter' from the man's POV.. I didn't like that. I like s3x scenes from the third person or the women's POV. Just a preference thing, really, but I'm curious if anyone else noticed it? Knox knows good things never last, so anything more than a casual relationship has never been on the table for him. He doesn’t like strings, and he moves on at the first sign of an attachment. He hasn’t been with a local girl since high school, to the disappointment of many. When he is in the mood for a good chase, he heads out of town for a night or two of fun and pleasure. The routine has grown tiresome, though, which might explain his irresistible attraction to a certain newcomer. Little Miss Daisies in Her Hair is not his type at all. She is uppity and needy, and her vocabulary is too big. He hates that he wants her so badly, but if he cannot have her, nobody can – his brother Nash in particular.

Things We Hide from the Light Quotes - Goodreads

nash morgan was the town's 'do good' police chief/golden boy who dreamed of getting married and having kids one day. but after the events in twngo, he's a shell of his former self. he doesn't feel much of anything until he sees that his new neighbor is his brother's mysterious ex, lina. lina runs from commitment at all costs but even she can't deny her attraction to nash no matter how wrong for each other they are. but, they might not even get their chance to make bad choices when loose ends from the past start haunting them again. the 🔥 tension 🔥! This is on the slow burn side (about 66% is when all magic begins), but… BUUUT… the anticipation had me panting for the grand finale 😅😉 and it was worth it 🥵. As soon as Nash sees Lina bent over trying to rescue Piper (the stray he ends up rescuing), it’s on 😎. Nash might be struggling with his mental health, but little Nash (ahem… or big Nash. Whatevs 🤣🫣) is working just fine 😉. All Lina has to do is breathe near Nash and little Nash is ready 💁🏻‍♀️From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Starts with Us and It Ends with Us comes a passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance. Their attraction is immediate but Nash is the marrying type whereas Lina is the “have a good time and leave them in the dust” kind of girl. It doesn’t help that Knox has Lina move next door to Nash. Not only does have to see her beautiful face everyday, but he also has to hear her whenever she’s moving around next door to him😬.

lina and nash are decent characters and i liked them enough, but i couldnt help but feel like they are better suited to the roles of side characters rather than main ones. I enjoyed it, but not as much as TWNGO. TWHFTL has a very different feel to it, mostly because Nash is dealing with PTSD and depression after what happened at the end of book 1. Most of this book is Nash dealing with the aftermath, all while lusting over his new neighbor, Lina. He adopts the most adorable dog named Piper to help with his mental health, who I loved SO much. I love reading about dogs who have big personalities in books! nash morgan is really the best of both worlds because he used to be a golden retriever-esque, golden boy but now he's grumpy and hates everyone but he's such a softie and romantic for lina. i LOVEDDDD him. the dirty talk was phenom and he was just such a good hero. he knew he had his work cut out for him with lina and he was not afraid to put in the work, at all. Score does such a great job of building up both Nash and Lina’s characters that I felt like I really understood them and their issues but loved how they were able to communicate and be there for one another. the moments of levity. If I’m ever kidnapped, I hope to react the way Lina did 😅 I definitely giggled when I know I shouldn’t 🤣

i was over the moon with all the luciansloane moments & set up for book 3 AND with all the perfect knoxnaomi moments. feels like i read just for them Why can't I find a 5 star Lucy Score book?! Skip to the end for my theories. Otherwise this book was a great read and my review is below.* Lina’s (37) in town not only because Knox (book 1 H) asked her to be in his wedding since she’s one of closest friends, but because she’s also going after the man who shot Nash (41) in book 1, Duncan Hugo (she’s recovering an asset). Too bad Lina’s got secrets of her own, and if Nash finds out the real reason she’s in town, he’ll never forgive her. Besides, she doesn’t do relationships. Ever.
