When the Evolve2 40’s boom arm is pulled down, it meets premium microphone for open office standards.
While this might sound like it could get uncomfortable after a while, we found it was actually an improvement on other corded headsets we've used in the past. However, if you have devices with different connections types you will need to purchase an adapter separately as one is not included. Apart from the surprisingly useful Teams integration features, I don’t find myself inclined to shout about any part of them…they just do what they are meant to do very well. Using every platform known to the human race, the kids interrupting, dogs barking or in my case snoring loudly.
Nevertheless, the noise-cancelling features of the Evolve 40’s microphone is still more than adequate to get a similarly noise-free communication avenue. Straight away, you notice the high quality materials used on this Evolve2 40, deep memory foam on the ear cups that isolate the majority of any external noise.I’m not giving up on Jabra or wires…look out for my review of the cheaper Jabra Evolves 20s which I have bought to replace these. Anyway, the sidetone level was pre-set too high, I tried a few settings and was torn between off and the minimum…I went for the minimum setting in the end and the problem is solved. Simply wear the headset to eliminate high-frequency noise, such as human voices - all thanks to the specially designed ear cushions. I checked with colleagues and they could not hear any of my breathing during a conversation, but I could.
The Evolve2 40 is no exception to that- in fact, it's one of the best corded headsets we've had the pleasure of using.

It’s time to replace my cheap old headset after a client spoilt me with a Jabra set, but then took them back after the project…which is fair enough, I guess. Every aspect of the Evolve2 40 has been redesigned, and the overall design feels a lot more modern than its predecessor. The models that are certified for Microsoft Teams (or Microsoft Lync) support Microsoft Teams as a Plug and Play experience. They are located on the back of right ear cup, took me a little fumbling to get used to the positions but after a few song skips and pauses it became second nature. Along with the physical facelift, the Jabra Evolve2 30 also received upgrades on its digital chipset and speaker drivers. Jabra’s Evolve headsets cater to this need, providing an extensive selection of models with various features. On a side note, the Evolve 40 includes a disc attached to the cable that gives you easier access to controls, such as mute and media playback, which is notably missing on the newer Evolve2 30.The only issue I have is that the wire is a bit stiff, it still has all its kinks and holds it’s shape too much, creating a loop as it sticks out and comes back…you’ll have to watch the video to see what I mean.
