Great value for money, I’ve had my current one for 5 years with no problems and the one before that for even longer I’m always using it so it’s got a hard life and never skips a beat. I do give them quite a hammering though and they eventually seem to bust when using a socket box sinking tool. I deliberately went wired as I think SDS needs that extra umph that you can't get without spending mega bucks on a cordless. The drill, hammer drill, and chisel functions mean that it can be used for a variety of jobs, from light demolition to drilling brickwork. The Chiselling action is suitable for light chiselling applications in brick, soft masonry and occasionally concrete and the impact stop facility on the HR2470T is for use when drilling wood/metal.

Smashing drill from makita not the most powerful one ive ever used but does what it says it can do and does it well. Had one of these for years now, very good value for money, powerful as a breaker as well as a drill, even use this drill with a 100mm diamond core but in it as well, which is a bit extreme but it copes well. Featuring a powerful 780W motor and all-metal gearing for reliability, and a mechanical safety clutch to eliminate any sudden high-torque reaction should the bit jam. Makita supports the creation of an enriched society on a global scale, through the provision of power tools, outdoor power equipment, and pneumatic tools. Great bit of kit however my only negative comment I can give is that the push button on the side of the handle to keep the drill running without having to hold the trigger pops out on its own too easily which can mean constant stop starting when using it in hammer action to remove render etc.

Had 2 of these so far and have no complaints the grip is expecially handy and can be moved to a position to suit the job and the cable is a at a good length for those out of the way jobs. This Drill is the daddy for your everyday 240v jobs it dose anything from drilling to chasing walls as the saying goes this on takes a hammering and keeps on going.
